About us
Louisa’s Cache is named in honor of Louisa Loftin, an ambitious and determined woman whose vision helped shape Navasota in the late 1800s. At a time when cotton was king and warehouses lined the railroad tracks cutting through town, Louisa. a widow, earned a reputation for her drive and independence.
In the late 1860s, she financed the construction of a three-story stone hotel along those very tracks, creating a place for travelers, commerce, and community to gather. In 1875, Louisa Loftin married entrepreneur P.A. Smith, and the hotel would come to carry his name, though it was her foresight and investment that made it possible.
Today, Louisa’s Cache carries that same spirit forward. Located inside the historic P.A. Smith Hotel, the café and boutique blend craft coffee, wine, and artisan pastries with a thoughtfully curated collection of goods and exclusive hotel merchandise. It’s a space meant for connection, discovery, and taking a moment to linger, whether you’re stopping in for a quick coffee, enjoying a relaxed glass of wine, or browsing for something unexpected.
Louisa’s Cache honors the past while welcoming the present, rooted in the story of a woman who helped build the foundation we still stand on today.
